Farm Fresh Eggs
At Wing & Wool, we consider our eggs-free range. From the moment our chickens are old enough to venture into the grass, they consistently have access to spacious green pastures. Our chickens love pecking through the grass for bugs and snacking on wild plants.

Why farm fresh eggs?
Free-range eggs are better for you! Many studies have found that pasture-raised eggs are nutritionally superior to traditional commercial eggs, having less cholesterol and saturated fat, as well as more vitamin A, omega-3, vitamin E, and beta carotene. Not to mention, store-bought eggs are typically MONTHS old by the time they reach the consumer.

Treatment of our chickens
Sustainability and humane treatment of our chickens is important to us, you will find that we do not seek out unnaturally huge eggs that are risky for our chickens to lay and we allow them to take a break all winter long by not offering artificial light. These two steps make sure that our chickens live long, productive lives. Most commercial egg-laying chickens only live until the age of 2! Our chickens far surpass that.

Egg types and colors
Our eggs are hand-collected and packaged daily. As a result, they are not graded and will vary in size, typically around commercially known "large" or grade A eggs. We offer traditional brown eggs, but also greens and blues that are not seen in the supermarket. The color of the egg is dependent on the breed of chicken that is laid. We can tell apart each egg that is laid by each one of our chickens by color or shape. We do not have a rooster on site, you will never receive fertilized eggs.
